I've had these exposed wires dangling freely in my back courtyard for months. I live in an old, Philadelphia rowhouse, so I expected to lose power, namely because of those wires. Nope, I was fine. The lights flickered a few times, but we all still have power. The temperate dropped a lot, and there's a lot of leaves scattered about, but no damage from what I can tell in the surrounding area. Not even flooding in the basement. Best wishes to friends and family at home, and those in Jersey and New York. :[

I spent the day editing footage from the film I've been working on in my narrative production class.

We're filming with the Aaton LTR54 16mm camera. I'm sort of in love with it. For those who don't know, this camera was used to shoot a lot of motion pictures. The Hurt Locker is a recent example.

Our actress was Kim, one of my best friends and she did an amazing job on screen. This is a still from one of my favorite scenes. It's so short, but I love it for the lighting and motion.

This was from our shoot when we did the exterior shots. The locations that day were a beautiful field and the remaining structure of an old abandoned farmhouse, complete with creepy basement. We used a five in one to bounce some light on Kim to really make the scene pop.

The three of us were looking over the structure of the building, trying to figure out how many floors it used to be. I was on audio for the film and recorded with the tascam. I love being on audio and doing folly work. David helped in the morning with boom and aided with some set design suggestions and slated in the afternoon. When Jon came on set for the afternoon he helped boom.

This is the field we were able to film in! The tall grass and fall leaves look amazing on film. We were waiting for Ricky and Hanna to get the dolly over to the building before we began the next take. The best part was after wrapping up we were treated to strangers feeding us a feast! They were having an apple festival on the property we were filming on and the owner welcomed us to eat whatever we wished. They even had candied apples!! :D

I'm still working on finding a diner for a short I want to make over Thanksgiving, and started outlining and delegating roles for a 1830s period piece film that will be shot in December that I will be directing also.

HALLOWEEN!
I'm super excited for Halloween, despite the stormy weather that we've been having. I'm going to be Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service. I'm really happy with the costume that I've put together. I'll post pictures of it tomorrow. :D

    1. Oh, thank you so much. :) I made the layout background from a photo that I took in an old abandoned mansion not far from my parents. I've followed you too. Your Little Watson kitty is too cute! I love the BBC Sherlock. :D
