At 1:11AM some man with a blow horn and siren was driving up and down the streets shouting out shelter information, and if needed evacuation plans for the city of Philadelphia and sections prone to flooding. I was still awake, but my neighbors were less than thrilled.

I went for a walk this morning so I could enjoy the empty sidewalks and quiet of the usually busy streets. Everything was basically closed, or closing early. I stopped by The Last Drop, a great little coffee shop on 1300 Pine Street. I love the architecture of the interior of the shop. They offer free wifi and make great sandwiches. I bought myself a Chai Tea Latte and continued on my walk.

I love to cut down Juniper when headed back to my place. It's one of the small, one-way streets and the apartments that line the walkways are always well kept. The bright yellow leaves on the fall trees were really beautiful. The cloudy sky and wet pavement just seemed to make all of the colors pop today. :)

I snapped this photo of Juniper on my walk back to my apartment. I wanted to keep walking around, but by noon the wind gusts were picking up to the point where my umbrella kept snapping backwards, and it was more of a hassle than it was worth.

I came home to this. <3 My little Halloween kitten, curled up with her favorite orange blanket and purring away.

I made myself a yogurt parfait for lunch. They're really easy to make with basically an endless mix and match variety of options.

YOGURT PARFAIT:
What I used.
1. Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt (Blended)
2. Fruit (Raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries)
3. Granola (Oats & Honey)
4. Tall/clear glass
5. Spoon

While I like to layer my yogurt parfaits, you can simply use a bowl and toss everything together and eat it. Being fancy with your yogurt parfaits is not required.
I love my vintage mushroom glasses! They were my Grams, and before I moved she allowed me to take them with me to my apartment. You can use any type of tall, clear/decorative glass you'd like for your yogurt parfait. I generally buy a large container of vanilla yogurt to mix in with the fruit. Peach yogurt is also great to use and mix with raspberries. I always get blended instead of greek. Fruit wise, I generally stick to raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. Sometimes I'll grab blackberries too.
Granola! I've tried a variety of different brands, but Cascadian Farm Organic brand granola has the best crunch to it. I'm not a fan of mushy granola. The mush texture freaks me out. I would recommend the oats and honey blend. It mixes well with the yogurt and fruit without being overpowering.

First fill the bottom with fruit and then a layer of the yogurt. The yogurt might pour down the sides, which is fine. You'll be mixing it all up in the end anyway.

Repeat until you have about a half inch to an inch of space on the top. Take the granola and fill the top of the glass.

An adorable and delicious snack that is quick to make and healthy for you too. :)
